science!

Science

I've been sitting on these photos I took in J's lab for quite awhile now. They just didn't seem to fit with my usual content. But the truth is, the nerd in me thinks that there is much magic to be found in them and I couldn't resist sharing them with you.

I'm always amazed when I visit J at work, and see the highly specialized knowledge he has and how well he knows his way around such a complicated and potentially dangerous space. I mean, one of his "chores" is to refill the liquid nitrogen!

Awesome, huh?

  1. Cool pictures! I have had to pour nitrogen out of one of those tanks (the smaller ones) numerous times. Definitely a cool chemical (pun intended..) but can also be quite dangerous! A liquid nitrogen burn isn't fun. Glad to see he has got the right PPE on...haha

  7. Hi Clair, Sorry I didn't get to meet you at the Boston Bloggers event last night. I'm following your blog now and look forward to reading more and getting to know you through it. I read your about me section and had to laugh b/c I too like sugar a bit TOO much. On March 1st I'm starting a month (hopefully longer) of "clean" eating. Cutting way down on sugar and eating way more veggies and chicken (I don't eat any other meat or seafood). So I look forward to checking out your recipes for inspiration!!!
