inspired

I am so lucky to have a family that leaves me feeling invigorated instead of drained.

J and I spent a beautiful (hot) weekend with my parents and brother...eating the best food in Boston, stretching our legs over miles and miles, discovering beautiful places, and having hearty conversation.

Facing an empty apartment and a new work week this morning, we both admitted that instead of feeling stressed or worn out, we felt decidedly reset. I guess that's what a few days of fresh meals, relaxation, and good company can do for you.

And more than just reset, I was feeling inspired. And I can't help but think it must have something to do with spending time with my parents and reconnecting with who I am as their child, rather than all the other roles I play in my life. Because the inspiration this morning felt so reminiscent of childhood...of fascination with the past, contentedness in the present, and unwavering hope for the future.

I can't quite put that inspiring feeling into words, but I wanted to share it with you nonetheless. It looks a little something like this...

  4. Very nice, Clair. I'm feeling inspired by an old album I've been listening to. Maybe I'll blog about it. :)
